Privacy policy
Your Factory is on Fire, for Windows PC.
The short version
The game collects nothing about you and sends nothing anywhere by itself. It has no analytics, no ads and no account of ours. What leaves your computer is what you choose to send: a bug report you mail us, or the game you play with other players.
On your computer
Your settings, saved games, the maps you make and the game's log are kept in
your user folder (%APPDATA%\YourFactoryIsOnFire). They stay there.
Bug reports and the benchmark
The pause menu's Report a bug writes a zip file on your computer (what you typed, the game's version and settings, your graphics card, and, if you leave them ticked, the log, the current game and a screenshot) and opens your own email program with a message to support@positronicgames.com. Nothing is sent unless you send that email. Your Windows user name and computer name, and anything that looks like a password, key, email or IP address, are removed from the text first. The benchmark works the same way: it writes a text file you may send us.
If you email us, we use what you send only to fix the game, and delete it when we no longer need it.
Playing together
- Over Steam: the game uses Steam to find games and connect players. Other players in your game see your Steam name, and the host's game remembers your Steam account so you can come back to your inventory. Connections go through Steam's relays, so players don't see each other's IP addresses. A game open on Steam shows its host's name, the map, the difficulty, how many are playing and whether it needs a password. Steam is Valve's service, under Valve's privacy policy.
- Over a direct connection: the players connect to each other, so each sees the other's IP address. The connection is encrypted and the password is never sent across the network.
- Chat is shown in the game and not stored. Only the host's game is saved: it holds each player's inventory and place under their Steam account or chosen name.
Children
The game collects nothing from anyone, of any age.
