Space Trucking Zombies
Haul ore across the asteroid belt. Keep your failing ship alive. Trust nothing.
In internal testing on Google Play (Android)
It is 2069. You are an independent trucker hauling rock across the asteroid belt for a mining corporation, in a ship that was cheap when it was new.
You never see the belt. You see the cab: a map, a wall of racks, a dashboard of dials and a lever that lights the drive. Everything you know about the ship, and about what is happening out there, comes through instruments, and instruments can be wrong.
Haul
- Buy ore at the mines, sell it at Ceres, run supplies back out. Every station trades everything at one price; the money is made between them.
- Plot flip-and-burn transits on a live orbital map. A bigger hold is a slower ship, and a long haul needs food, air and propellant bought ahead.
- Take jobs from the station boards: freight, passengers, wanted goods and waste nobody else will carry. Chase shortages on the news wire before everyone else fills them.
- Refit whole systems up four tiers. A better drive flies faster on less propellant; better hardware runs harder and breaks less.
Keep it running
- Every system is real hardware in a real rack: scrubbers, coolant loops, batteries, heaters, the drive. Parts wear out and fail.
- Pull the tray, throw the breaker, vent the loop, bleed the capacitor. Skip a step and it will cost you.
- Rebuild parts at the bench with metal and tape, or with an expensive repair kit.
- Some faults the ship will name. Some it will only hint at. Some it will never admit to.
Something is wrong in the belt
- The news feed tells a story the corporation would rather you did not read. Truckers are going quiet. Hulls drift off their lanes.
- An investigator wants your help, and he pays.
- Your own condition is the one reading aboard that is always honest.
